NOTICE: New FINTRAC Regulatory Requirements

We would like to inform you of important regulatory changes that apply to companies in Canada that offer lease financing to their customers. The Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada (FINTRAC) has expanded its regulatory framework under the Proceeds of Crime (Money Laundering) and Terrorist Financing Act (PCMLTFA). As a result, companies like Ricoh that provide equipment, software and services solutions through a leasing or financial agreement are now subject to enhanced compliance obligations designed to help prevent money laundering and terrorist financing activities.

What This Means for Your Business

To comply with these requirements, we are required to implement additional customer due diligence measures. In practical terms, your organisation may be asked to:

  • Provide or reconfirm business identification details (e.g., legal name, ownership structure, or control information)

  • Identify and verify authorised signing officers or beneficial owners

  • Update existing corporate or account information from time to time

  • Respond to requests related to specific transactions or account activity

These requirements are regulatory in nature and apply uniformly across the leasing industry for the lease of any property for business purposes. They do not reflect any concern regarding your organisation or your leasing arrangements with us.

Commitment to Data Protection

We recognise the sensitive nature of business and personal information. All information collected is used strictly for regulatory compliance purposes, safeguarded in accordance with applicable privacy legislation, and accessed only by authorised personnel.

Our Ongoing Commitment

Our priority is to ensure compliance while minimising disruption to your operations. These regulatory changes do not alter your lease terms, pricing, or service commitments. We appreciate your cooperation as we implement these measures and remain committed to providing responsive, reliable service.
