Toronto – April 4, 2023 – Gowling WLG, an international law firm, and Ricoh North America today announced that they have become pro bono partners in Relativity’s Justice for Change program. Through this partnership, Gowling WLG and Ricoh will provide hosting, administrative, litigation and project management support to grant recipient organizations in their use of RelativityOne.

As part of this initiative, Gowling WLG’s eDiscovery Management Group and Ricoh will work closely with global legal technology company Relativity to provide a range of sophisticated technology and litigation support services to non-profit organizations tackling racial and social justice issues – all on a pro bono basis.

“For the people and organizations working to create a more just world, the ability to access modern legal tools and services is absolutely critical,” said Laurent Massam, head of Gowling WLG’s Pro Bono Program. “That’s why we’re excited to partner with Ricoh and Relativity on this initiative, one that brings into sharp focus the growing role technology can play in the delivery of such crucial pro bono supports.”

Relativity’s Justice for Change program focuses on increasing access to justice by providing free use of its cloud-based eDiscovery product, RelativityOne, to organizations involved in legal cases and academic and policy research related to racial and social justice. Specifically, Justice for Change has allocated 100TB of RelativityOne data to be used on pro bono projects led by customers or non-profit organizations. Through the Justice for Change partnership, Gowling WLG and Ricoh are committed to the continuous pursuit of justice through great pro bono work and building important connections across Canada.

“Among Ricoh’s founding principles is to love your neighbor, a philosophy that drives us to continually improve and contribute to the wellbeing of the communities in which we live and work,” said Jonathon Shea, Managing Director, Legal Services, Ricoh. “We welcome this opportunity to serve and support Justice for Change grant recipients, alongside our partners, and together contribute to creating a positive, lasting impact on society.”

“We are excited to welcome both Gowling WLG and Ricoh into the growing Justice for Change community,” said Johnathan Hill, Community Engagement Lead at Relativity. “Our hosting partners provide an invaluable and indispensable service to organizations as they advance their efforts with RelativityOne, and we are eager to see the progress they ignite throughout Canada.”
