Ricoh’s Revolutionary Aficio AP3800C Delivers High Performance Speeds at a Low Cost Without Compromising Quality: ARS Labs Awards the AP3800C With an Assessment Score of 9 Out of 10 - the Highest Score Given to Date for a Colour Page Printer.

Toronto, – Ricoh Canada, the leading international provider of the highest quality document and content management solutions for the 21st century, today introduced the most advanced colour laser printer in its class, the RICOH Aficio AP3800C. The AP3800C’s unprecedented speed of 28 pages per minute (ppm) in colour and 38 ppm in black & white as well as its flexible paper handling capabilities and document finishing options, offer any size workgroup the ability to produce high-quality documents at a low cost. It is unique in that it can replace black and white printers while offering colour quality and speed as well as optional on-line finishing.

Ricoh’s engineers designed the long anticipated RICOH AP3800C to clearly demonstrate their vision in offering next-generation technologies including the company’s new architecture for all future hardware releases that equalizes the functionality of multifunction printer systems and enables more efficient and seamless integration of third-party hardware and software solutions. ARS reports that Ricoh is poised to make a substantial impact on the printer market with the introduction of its new AP3800C tandem colour laser printer.

In addition, the AP3800C provides reduced warm-up time, fast first print speed and new single pass technology that uses four drums to simultaneously print full colour compared to that of the multi pass process that requires four rotations to complete the job. The RICOH AP3800C’s versatile finishing capabilities include duplex printing, mailbox sorting, stapling and hole punching features all in one convenient footprint.

“Ricoh has targeted black and white as well as colour printer users with a very aggressive per page cost and an extremely competitive retail price,” said, Mike Fast, Senior Manager, New Business Development, Ricoh Canada. “The AP3800C can replace an old black and white workgroup printer at a comparable or lower page cost and give the additional benefit of high speed colour. With optional finishing capabilities, the AP3800C is the benchmark in productive workgroup colour and black and white printing.”

Other features of the RICOH AP3800C include full-bleed 11 x 17 printing, a quick 10-second first print speed, and a large 3,100-sheet maximum paper capacity.

The AP3800 will have a starting retail price of $7,995.
