Ricoh Canada Inc. executive named in top
100 of global IT leaders.
Ricoh Canada Inc., the leading supplier of document and imaging
solutions, today announced that Paul Johnson, Vice President, Operations
has been recognized as one of the business world’s Premier
100 IT Leaders by Computerworld, the newspaper for IT leaders.
The award honours individuals who have had a positive impact on
their organization through technology.
The Premier 100 IT Leaders award recognized Paul Johnson for his
exceptional technology leadership, innovative approach to business
challenges and effective execution of comprehensive IT strategies.
He was honoured at the Computerworld Premier 100 IT Leaders Conference
earlier this month at the Westin Mission Hills Resort in Rancho
Mirage, California.
“In today’s global e-business economy, IT leaders
face not only technology barriers, but also cultural, political,
and regulatory roadblocks,” said Maryfran Johnson, editor
in chief, Computerworld. “The Premier 100 recognizes the
visionary and innovative contributions of individuals who leverage
best practices and leadership skills to overcome these business
challenges and enhance their company’s competitiveness.”
Paul Johnson spearheaded the Baan implementation at Ricoh Canada.
Working with a core team of IT professionals and technology partners,
he ensured a straightforward transition from a legacy system to
an ERP system, balancing the needs of a multitude of users and
issues while adhering to tight timelines and stringent requirements.
His leadership in merging IT and business requirements in an effective
manner, combined with his ultimate understanding of Ricoh’s
unique, current and future IT needs, were notable attributes in
his garnering this prestigious award. In true leadership fashion,
Mr. Johnson credits the contribution of his highly skilled team
members and the support of Ricoh Canada President, Martin Brodigan,
as key factors in ensuring the success of this project.
“Paul is most deserving of this award. Not only does his
work typify the kind of dedication of our senior staff, but also
demonstrates how a team approach is the most effective strategy
to solving IT concerns and issues,” noted Ricoh Canada CEO,
Martin Brodigan.
