January 18, 2007 - Ricoh Canada Inc. is pleased to announce its involvement as an Official Supporter of the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games.
For the Ricoh team, the sporting metaphor fits perfectly. As an organization we subscribe to many of the same ideals that drive athletes on to do their best; diligent preparation, the desire to follow through, and the understanding that second place simply isn’t good enough. As Ricoh President and CEO, Martin Brodigan put it, “I’ve always held that those themes apply to our industry, as well. We may not have gold medals, but we certainly have judges. We call them customers. Regardless of the name, in the end, it’s that group that decides whether we’re successful or not.”
Ricoh Canada’s vision for the Vancouver 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games is to deliver exactly what it takes to ensure a memorable Games experience, by creating a “Technology Showcase”; a complete document management solution that demonstrates the cutting edge of what our company does, and brings to life our own motto for the project: get the right information to the right place at the right time.
Paramount in Ricoh’s decision to participate is the fact that the Vancouver Organising Committee for the 2010 Olympic and Paralympic Winter Games (VANOC), has made the environment a central consideration. Ricoh’s long-standing concern for environmental matters fits seamlessly with VANOC’s vision for the Games, and provides us with an opportunity to actively contribute to the goal of achieving a Games that are truly sustainable.
