“In this age of advanced technology, thick walls and locked doors cannot guard our privacy or safeguard our personal freedom.”
- Lyndon B. Johnson, 36th President of the USA
ISO 27001:2005 is an internationally recognized Information Security Management System (ISMS) Standard. It provides a comprehensive solution to the protection of an organization’s information. ISO 27001:2005 defines information as any asset that has value to an organization. ISO 27001:2005 requires that all assets be protected to maintain the integrity of an organization’s infrastructure and to secure an organization’s customer collateral.
Ricoh Canada Inc., in conjunction with Ricoh business units worldwide, has committed to definitive action in safeguarding information, particularly that pertaining to its customers. To that end, Ricoh has been introducing ISMS protocols in a number of its business locations in the Toronto area, and is actively seeking certification at several key facilities nationally. Ricoh is pleased to announce that on March 2, 2008, Ricoh Canada Inc. officially received ISMS Certification to the ISO 27001: 2005 standard for its Corporate Head Office at Explorer Drive.
Ricoh Canada Inc. and all of its employees are proud of the fact that BSI, a highly qualified, third party ISO Registrar with a world renowned reputation, has registered our company to ISO 27001:2005. This registration provides independent verification to Ricoh’s valued customers and stakeholders that the company not only utilizes internationally recognized practices of information security management, but is a clear ISMS leader in our industry.
